Ms. Jackson,

There are many options regarding your water heater. It is possible to go with a smaller unit; however, heaters are typically sized based upon demand. If sized too low, it is very possible you may prematurely run out of hot water.

We will happily inspect your situation at no cost to you and propose the different solutions. Please contact our San Antonio office at 210 341-6124 and we will happily schedule one of our many licensed plumbers to take care of you.

Thanks,

David

Is it possible to get a smaller water heater installed, or do you have to put the same size one in? The one we have now is a 47 gallon, but there is hardly any room for the hoses since it is in a hall closet and the A/C sits on top of it. San Antonio, TX

Mr. Walter,

We have received the proper endorsements from all tankless water heater manufacturers for their installation. Although we will happily install one for you, there are several things that should be considered before committing to such a project.

Tankless water heater technology has significantly improved. However, despite the claims, there still are limitations. I have personally done more research on the subject matter than most because when building my home, I considered installing them. I read every word of the installation packet for both Rinnai and Takagi brands. I scanned the literature for Bosch, Noritz, Bradford White and Rheem.

I can provide more information than most care to hear. If interested, please contact me at dc@aaa-auger.com and leave me your contact information. Or, leave me an email with your contact information and a time at which you would like me to call. I check email frequently.

I would respond in text; however, rather than attempting to write out a decision loop to cover all of the bases, I think it is more efficient to address information specific to your application.

Thanks for your interest.

Regards,

May need a new water heater and am considering the tankless on-demand type heater. Please let me know if you all sell and install these type of units.
