An All Hours - 24 Plumber Explains Greywater Systems

Greywater recycling is receiving more and more attention as a green plumbing solution. AAA AUGER all hours – 24 plumber is here to shed light on this gray area. Greywater gets it’s name from it’s grayish tint and it’s classification between white and black water categories. White water is potable, drinkable water. Gray water comes from baths, showers, hand basins and washing machines. Black water is for sewage purposes.

Greywater is recyclable and reusable and can be recycled and treated directly within the home. It can be used for gardening, toilets and a variety of other uses. This water may be processed and stored for a short time, or used immediately. It may be used for flushing toilets, washing, gardening and irrigation.

Grey water may be filtered through sand, lava or UV radiation for near potable uses. Other processes like distillation and reverse osmosis are capable of converting greywater to potable drinking water, however these processes are only used in large scales.

Greywater systems can be a sustainable way to reuse water and can be coupled with other green solutions like water harvesting.

This is how the greywater system works: waste water flows from sinks and showers and then drains into a straining tank where grease, dirt and other sediments are filtered out. The water is then stored in a tank for immediate or future use.

With energy prices constantly raising and resources dwindling, green solutions are becoming more popular. Greywater recycling holds many benefits:

• Ecologically sustainable

• Reduces fresh water use

• Reduces strain on septic tanks and treatment plants

• Promotes plant growth

• Lowers fresh water extraction from rivers and aquifers

• Lessens the impact of septic tank and treatment plant pollution

• Promotes topsoil nitrification

• Reduces energy use and chemical pollution from treatment plants

• Energy savings

If you would like more information on greywater recycling, feel free to contact AAA AUGER all hours – 24 plumber at any time.

Would you consider using green plumbing in your home?

Green Technologies From AAA AUGER Plumbers Austin, Tx.

AAA AUGER plumbers Austin, Tx. are always looking to keep up with the latest advances in the plumbing world. Green, environmentally friendly and energy conserving, technologies are becoming more popular these days. One such technology is the solar hot water heater. It’s an ingenious way to heat water for household use.

The device is mounted on a roof, positioned under direct sunlight and, as a result, either directly or indirectly heats water for home use. The two types of solar hot water heaters are the open loop (the water is directly heated) and the closed loop system (a heat-transfer fluid passes heat to water).

Some benefits that come from using a solar water heater are:

• A lighter carbon footprint

• A decrease in the amount of greenhouse gasses your home produces

• Displacement of other fuels like natural gas and fossil fuels

• Free hot water

Some drawbacks of using a solar water heater are:

• The savings might not negate the expense of installing a new system

• Only 40% of all U.S. homes have sufficient access to sunlight to use a solar water heater

• Local laws may restrict construction additions like solar water heaters

Before investing in a new energy saving system be sure to weigh your options very carefully. Installing a new system may end up costing more than the energy savings it will produce.

It is more cost effective to make your home more energy efficient before installing a new system. Remember, using less water and energy is the first step to saving money.

Check to make sure that your system has no leaks and that all of your appliances work properly. Contact AAA AUGER plumbers Austin, Tx. to check your plumbing system for any inefficiencies.

What do you and your family do to conserve water?

 Be your Home's Own Plumber 24 Hours a Day – Part 2

We know that everyone loves to save money, especially on their monthly bills so we’ve put together a few ideas to help you conserve water and, in-turn, reduce your water bill each month! Each household member can participate and be their own plumber 24 hours a day:

• Turn the water off each time you brush your teeth.
• Only do full loads in the washing machine and dishwasher.
• Take a shower instead of a bath.
• Keep a pitcher of water in the refrigerator for drinking instead of running the tap.
• Install a flow restrictor in the shower.
• Limit showers to five minutes.
• When washing dishes by hand, don’t let the tap run freely to rinse. Fill the second side of the sink with rinse water.

We hope these tips will be useful in reducing your monthly water bill. Always remember that we are available to help you with any of your plumbing problems. Feel free to contact a AAA AUGER plumber 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, even on holidays.

Plumber Austin, Texas

AAA AUGER is the plumber Austin, Texas residents call for drain cleaning, water heaters, leak detection, water safety and sewer problems. AAA AUGER has brought quality service to Texas for decades and is available 24 hours a day, on nights, weekends, and even holidays.

What causes sewer problems?

Sewer problems are a result of a blockage or breakage in the sewer line. It is important to note that from time to time sewer lines must be cleaned, repaired or even replaced. Blockages that consist of oils, fats, sand, hair and roots can build-up for years and cease the flow of water. A sewer auger is the tool most often used to scrape out the materials blocking the pipe. The auger houses a cable that is fed into the sewer, and with the help of cutter blades, works to clean out blockages located on the interior wall of the sewer pipe.

Roots can be the cause of sewer problems as well. Roots can grow into sewer lines and wreak havoc on everything they touch. A sewer auger can usually bore out all root material. If roots have grown through the sewer line walls a larger problem may exist. Roots can penetrate sewer lines depending on the quality of the material the lines are made of.  Here is a list of materials that sewer lines are made of, as well as some of the problems that may accompany them.

Clay Tile Pipe
Cast Iron Pipe
Bituminized Fiber Pipe (Orangeburg)
Polyvinyl Chloride Pipe DWV (PVC)

While a sewer auger can take care of most sewer problems sometimes more drastic measures must be taken. These extreme measure include plumbing techniques such as:

Sewer and Drain Cleaning
Video Inspection
Water Jetting
• Sewer Line Repair or Replacement
• Sewer Leak Testing
• Boring
• Building Drain Repair

AAA AUGER is the plumber Austin, Texas residents are looking for. We never charge to come out on service calls no matter when we’re called. Call us anytime, 24 hours a day and we’ll be ready to help you with your plumbing needs!

» The San Antonio Plumbing Service That Knows How to Conquer A Clogged Pipe

Friday, January 6th, 2012

AAA AUGER San Antonio Plumbing Service

In order for your plumbing lines to work efficiently, you might want to consider having your drain cleaned regularly. Annual cleaning prevents stoppages and back-ups. In some cases, a back-up can sneak into the drains in your home or business, and and create a dreadful mess. AAA AUGER has nearly 50 years of experience with battling clogs and we even like to think of ourselves as the clog-clearing experts. We keep our vans fully stocked with everything from auger machines to water jetters to make sure that we are able handle any size clog, anytime.

Why Is Drain Cleaning Needed?

Unfortunately, all plumbing systems develop clogs. Materials build-up within the pipe walls and must be removed. With proper maintenance from an experienced professional, these clogs can be cleared to avoid an expensive plumbing repair, not to mention a homeowner’s headache.

Your toilet isn’t the only thing that gets clogged. Floor drains that carry away wastewater from air conditioners, washing machines and water heaters can collect large amounts of lint, soap scum, sand and slimy bacteria. This debris can crystallize inside the pipes and form a hard barrier that only a high powered machine can muscle through.

On top of everything else, sometimes these clogs can be caused by Mother Nature. Roots can invade the pipes of your plumbing system and lead to the need for expensive repairs. AAA AUGER San Antonio Plumbing Service recommends an annual cleaning of the plumbing line to keep any roots from invading your pipes and ruining your plumbing system.

Why Use AAA AUGER San Antonio Plumbing Service?

Don’t take a chance with a rookie plumber! Inexperienced plumbers can damage drain lines when attempting to clean them. Powerful equipment is used when removing hardened materials from inside drains and an inexperienced plumber may cause damage that could lead to an enormous and expensive repair. AAA AUGER San Antonio Plumbing Service has encountered every clog known to man. We are ready for any clog that comes our way and our vans always carry an arsenal of plumbing tools to tackle any job we may come across.

AAA AUGER San Antonio Plumbing Service has been in business since 1969 and has earned a reputation of delivering the highest standard of service and quality possible to our customers.

Give us a call if you have a clogged pipe or even a plumbing question. We’re available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, on nights, weekends and holidays too! We know that plumbing problems may get expensive, so don’t worry, we never charge for service calls.
