Tulsa Plumber

Water safety in our homes is something most of us take for granted. There have been many advances in plumbing that have made the water in our homes extremely safe to use. Backflow preventers, expansion tanks, temperature and pressure valves all were made to keep us out of harm’s way and our plumbing systems working smoothly. However, from time to time, it is important to check a home’s water pressure.

Excessive water pressure can cause major problems and expensive repairs. Water pipes can rupture, faucets can malfunction and hot water tanks can burst. Your home may have a pressure reducing valve which will keep the water pressure at a safe level. A Tulsa plumber will be able to identify whether or not you have one installed.

Water pressure usually doesn’t fluctuate, and most of the time it isn’t a concern. Instances that could cause fluctuation usually result from work being done outside the home. Municipal or city water services sometimes make a change, like adding a water tower or upgrading a water pump, which can affect your home’s water pressure. Other occurrences that could likely cause your water pressure to fluctuate are broken water mains or the use of fire hydrants nearby.

Not all losses in water pressure are because of outside causes. You may experience changes when you install  a new shower head or a new faucet. Also, you may experience weak pressure due to a leak, a clog or a dripping fixture. Consult a Tulsa plumber to identify and solve your water pressure problems. In some houses water pressure may drop when too many appliances, like the washing machine, dishwasher, sprinkler system, shower or toilet, are all being used at the same time.

If you have any concerns about your water pressure give a AAA AUGER Tulsa plumber a call. We have service technicians who are trained to provide accurate and reliable water pressure tests whenever you may need.

We love to hear a good story. Do you have any tales of woe that you would like to share about your water pressure?

Plumbing Supply Tulsa

Why is clean water a concern?

Safe, clean water is a basic human need. Contaminated water isn’t just unsanitary, it can be deadly. In spite of modern advances, every year in America hundreds of people become ill because the water in their homes becomes unfit to drink. AAA AUGER Plumbing supply Tulsa, is dedicated to maintaining the flow of clean water to the community. A licensed plumber’s mission is, “to protect the health of a nation.” Rest assured knowing that this statement lies in the core of AAA AUGER’s fundamental principles.

How does water become contaminated?

Direct cross contamination occurs when sewage or hazardous liquids come in contact with a fresh water supply. The dumping of pollutants directly, or indirectly, is a major cause of water pollution. It is important to note that water is aslo contaminated in many other ways such as: groundwater pollution, chemical contaminants, thermal pollution, industrial wastewater, agricultural wastewater and urban run-off.

Cross-contamination occurs when any non-potable or hazardous liquid comes in contact with a clean water supply. Cross contamination is the main concern surrounding home plumbing systems.

How is cross-contamination prevented?

One way to prevent cross contamination is with a backflow preventer. The backflow preventer is a device that halts backflow siphonage. Backflow siphonage causes water to run in a reverse direction, back into a home plumbing system. This action can contaminate the clean water in a home very rapidly. Most manufactures suggest a home’s backflow preventer be tested annually due to wear and tear on internal parts.

A vacuum breaker is another device designed to inhibit backflow. A vacuum breaker, commonly found on outdoor faucets, prohibits the flow of water backward into the home plumbing system, specifically beyond the breaker itself. Vacuum breakers are inexpensive and easily replaceable by AAA AUGER plumbing supply Tulsa.

AAA AUGER plumbing supply Tulsa is certified to inspect and replace backflow preventers. We will do everything in our power to make certain that your home has a constant flow of safe, clean, drinkable water!

AAA AUGER is the plumbing supply Tulsa calls on when faced with a plumbing emergency or water safety issue. AAA AUGER offers free service calls even on nights, weekends and holidays, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

 Be your Home's Own Plumber 24 Hours a Day – Part 2

We know that everyone loves to save money, especially on their monthly bills so we’ve put together a few ideas to help you conserve water and, in-turn, reduce your water bill each month! Each household member can participate and be their own plumber 24 hours a day:

• Turn the water off each time you brush your teeth.
• Only do full loads in the washing machine and dishwasher.
• Take a shower instead of a bath.
• Keep a pitcher of water in the refrigerator for drinking instead of running the tap.
• Install a flow restrictor in the shower.
• Limit showers to five minutes.
• When washing dishes by hand, don’t let the tap run freely to rinse. Fill the second side of the sink with rinse water.

We hope these tips will be useful in reducing your monthly water bill. Always remember that we are available to help you with any of your plumbing problems. Feel free to contact a AAA AUGER plumber 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, even on holidays.

» Plumbing Saver Tip – Water Heater Timer

Tuesday, May 31st, 2011

Ray Hall the AAA AUGER Austin Business Manager shares a money saving plumbing tip:
I installed a timer on my electric water heater and cut our electric bill down by over 60 dollars a month. My wife and I both work so we set our timer to shut off at 7:00 AM and to turn back on again at 5 PM. When she gets home early the water is still hot enough to take a shower. Our timer can be set so it is on all day on weekends. I’d recommend this as a great way to save money because it paid for itself in just a few months. We installed it and forgot it, then just saved money.

Contact AAA AUGER to get a timer and start saving today. Call 512 928-0467.

My wife & I are senior citizens. We have had numerous bad experiences with other plumbers. AAA has given us outstanding services everytime! Last time I had replaced a valve in our kitchen faucet which loosened the faucet underneath. I was unable to reach the problem. My wife called you folks and had it fixed in nothing flat! It was so simple for him that they didn't charge for the service. We can't thank you enough!! Happy customers from San Antonio
